Designer Beliefs (2016-present) is informed by the blatant hypocrisy of the political and social landscape. Fashion icons who built their brands by making well designed, impeccably crafted items by hand, are now worn as badges of wealth and superiority. A shining example for all to see.
In my opinion, this is very similar to the way that some people announce their faith as a qualifier to being wholesome, and pure of thought, while quoting verses that reinforce only their personal agenda. Wearing their faith as a badge of purity for all to see.
While I attempt to expose the hypocrisy that I see in the world, I am not critical of those that believe in any one religion. I am critical of those who believe on the extreme fringes of any religion. It is my firm belief that all religions, and the parables that they use in their teachings, are there to teach people how to be good, honest members of a larger society.
The Designer Beliefs series began in 2016 with the 7 bibles here, referencing the Book of Revelations and the 7 letters to the 7 churches. The series seems to have a mind of its own and is continually growing.
